Cowboys from Hell é o quinto álbum de estúdio da banda estadunidense de heavy metal Pantera, lançado em 24 de Julho de 1990, pela Atlantic Records.

É o primeiro sucesso comercial da banda considerado por muitos como o "verdadeiro" primeiro álbum do grupo, pois marca uma nova fase onde eles deixam o glam de lado e começam a exibir traços de thrash, definindo as bases do que viria a se chamar groove metal que se concretizou no álbum seguinte.

Cowboys from Hell is the fifth album by American groove metal band Pantera, and their first Atco Records album, recorded at Pantego Sound Studio in Pantego, TX and released on July 24, 1990. This was their first commercially successful album, exposing the band's groove metal style to mainstream audiences. Cowboys from Hell is seen as Pantera's "official" debut by most fans, as well as the band itself as they left behind theirglam metal past and began to focus on groove metal. After its release, a logo for the band was made featuring the letters 'CFH' (the abbreviation of the album title) in a circular design.

Master of Puppets é o terceiro álbum de estúdio lançado pela banda de thrash metal/heavy metal norte-americana Metallica, em 21 de Fevereiro de 1986, pela Elektra Records. Até o momento, vendeu mais de seis milhões de cópias somente nos Estados Unidos, recebendo o Disco de Platina Sêxtuplo. O álbum está na Lista dos 200 álbuns definitivos no Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Amplamente reconhecido como um dos maiores álbuns da história do metal (por alguns, o maior). A revista inglesa Metal Hammer e o site MusicRadar.com se uniram para promover uma votação para eleger o melhor álbum de Heavy Metal de todos os tempos; o escolhido fora o álbum Master Of Puppets. Um fato importante sobre Master of Puppets é que ele é um álbum conceitual onde a banda desenvolve o tema "Dominação" no decorrer das canções, o que fica muito claro na letras das faixas "Master of Puppets", "Disposable Heroes" e "Leper Messiah". Foi o segundo álbum conceitual na carreira do Metallica. O primeiro foi Ride the Lightning, onde a banda falou sobre a morte.

Em 2006, a banda iniciou uma turnê de aniversario dos 20 anos do álbum e tocou o disco na integra. A turnê também foi uma homenagem aos 20 anos da morte do baixistaCliff Burton.

Master of Puppets is the third studio album by the American heavy metal band Metallica. It was released on February 24, 1986, and was the band's last album to feature bassistCliff Burton, who died in a bus crash in Sweden while touring to promote the album. The album peaked at number 29 on the Billboard 200 chart. It was the first thrash metal album to be certified platinum, and on June 9, 2003, it was certified six times platinum by theRecording Industry Association of America (RIAA), having shipped six million copies in the United States.

Master of Puppets was released to rave reviews from music critics and has been included in several publications' best album lists. Its driving, virtuosic music and angry political lyrics drew praise from critics outside of the metal community. The album is widely accepted as the band's strongest effort at the time, and serves as one of the most influential thrash metal albums of all time. Many bands from all genres of heavy metal have covered the album's songs throughout the years, including tribute albums as well. Since the beginning of the SoundScan era in 1991, Master of Puppets has sold 4,578,000 copies.

The front cover depicts a cemetery field of white crosses tethered to strings manipulated by a pair of hands in a blood-red sky. The album's cover concept was invented by Metallica and Peter Mensch, while the cover artwork was painted by Don Brautigam, who had worked with bands such as AC/DC, ZZ Top and The Rolling Stones. The original artwork was later auctioned at Rockefeller Plaza, New York City for the price between $20,000 and $30,000.

"Psychosocial" é o segundo single e a quarta faixa do quarto álbum de estúdio da banda Slipknot, All Hope Is Gone. Ela foi ao ar pela primeira vez no dia 26 de Junho de2008, e teve seu lançamento como single digital para o dia 1 de Julho. Slipknot tocou a música pela primeira vez ao vivo dia 9 de julho de 2008 em Seattle-Washington. A música foi escolhida como um dos temas do filme Punisher: War Zone. A música também ganhou o prêmio de "Melhor música de metal" no 51º Grammy Awardsem que a banda toca num terreno em chamas. É um dos vídeos mais vistos da banda noYouTube.

"Psychosocial" is a song by American metal band Slipknot. It is released as the secondsingle and fourth track from their fourth studio album, All Hope Is Gone. The song enteredairplay on June 26, 2008 and was originally planned for release as a digital single on July 1 but was delayed and released on July 8. Slipknot performed "Psychosocial" live for the first time on July 9, 2008, at the White River Amphitheatre in Auburn, Washington. In 2008 the track was featured on the soundtrack to Punisher: War Zone. The song was also nominated for 'Best Metal Performance' for the 51st Grammy Awards,  but lost toMetallica's "My Apocalypse", and was nominated for the Kerrang! Award for Best Single.

"Psychosocial", along with two other Slipknot songs, "Duality" and "Sulfur," was released as downloadable content for Rock Band and Rock Band 2 on December 8, 2009.^[10] It is also featured as a playable track in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock.

Spit It Out é o segundo single da banda de Heavy metal Slipknot. A música foi incluída no álbum Slipknot.
É um rap metal acelerado com um vocal melódico no refrão. Como na maioria das canções da banda, as guitarras são afinadas em Drop B Tunning. Há também bastante uso de samplers. Os versos da canção são em rap ou gritadas e o refrão é bem melódico. Sua letra é extremamente agressiva, usando vários palavrões durante os versos.

Spit It Out is Slipknot's second single and is on the first Self Titled Album. Spit It Out has multiple remixes including the Overcaffeinated Hyper Remix, Stamp You Out Remix, and more. Multiple riffs from an unreleased track on Crowz called "Nature" made it to Spit It Out.

Toxicity é o segundo álbum de estúdio da banda System of a Down. O álbum foi lançado em 4 de setembro de 2001 pela American Recordings, a exatamente uma semana antes de 11 de Setembro de 2001, quando ocorreram os ataques terroristas no mesmo dia, e atingiu 1º lugar tanto nos Estados Unidos quanto no Reino Unido.

No site de Metacritic, Toxicity atingiu uma pontuação de 73 de 100, baseado na opinião de nove críticos, que indica que o álbum teve uma pontuação favorável.

Keith Harris da Rolling Stone deu 3.5 de 5 estrelas ao álbum e escreveu "Tanto maníaco quanto esquizóide, Tankian se desvia facilmente do rítmo do canto-rap à histeria deKorn, do rosno demoníaco em barítono ao "arruinadamente ruminativo"... a música insiste em ir para frente sem prender-se a uma etapa de bloqueio inútil" (Set. 27 2001, pág.70).

Toxicity is the second album by Armenian American rock band System of a Down. Produced by Rick Rubin, Toxicity was released on September 4, 2001 by American Recordings, debuting at number 1 on both the United States, with 220,000 copies, and number 1 on the Canadian charts. Toxicity has sold over 12 million copies worldwide and is certified multi-platinum in the United States.

The album is listed in Blender's 500 CDs You Must Own. MusicRadar held a public poll and Toxicity was ranked as 28th greatest heavy metal album in the list of The 50 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums of All Time. The album is ranked at number 44 in Rolling Stone's 100 Best Albums of the Decade for 2000s.

Digital Dream Door has currently ranked Toxicity at number 72 on their list of the "100 Greatest Metal Albums", and number 16 on their list of "100 Greatest Albums of the 2000s". Alternative Press ranked it number 9 in its "25 Best Albums of 2001" (Feb 2002, p.64). Mojo ranked it number 93 in its "100 Modern Classics" (p.54).

The album won a 2001 Metal Edge Readers' Choice Award for "Album of the Year."

Loudwire listed the album as #1 on its list of 'Top 11 Metal Albums of the 2000s.

"Before I Forget" é um single da banda americana de nu metal/metal alternativo/heavy metal Slipknot, lançado em 2004. A canção é incluída no álbum Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses). A canção ganhou o Grammy de Melhor Performance de Metal em 2006, que foi o primeiro Grammy da banda.
O riff da canção é baseado em uma canção chamada "Carve" que foi incluída no álbum não lançado "Crowz". Dentro dos últimos 18 segundos, um Código Morse que diz "Slipknot" pode ser ouvido.
O vídeo de Before I Forget mostra os membros do Slipknot tocando a música desmascarados e vestidos com roupas casuais (todos com camisas pretas). "Before I Forget" is a Grammy Award winning song by Slipknot and the third single from their 2004 album Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses). It was listed as AOL's top metal song of the decade.

"Before I Forget" borrows certain elements from a much older Slipknot song "Carve", which was recorded before their self titled album.

Singer Corey Taylor stated that he fought with producer Rick Rubin over the chorus. Rubin wanted Taylor to change the chorus vocal melody because he felt it wasn't catchy, however Taylor stood his ground and the chorus stayed unchanged.

Within the last 18 seconds of the full-length song, Morse Code can be heard in the left channel, along with Corey muttering 'You're wasting it', however, reversed.

The earliest version of this song was in 1996 with Anders Colsefni on vocals. The song was called Carve and was for the SR Demo 1997. Fans refer to the demo as Crowz.

Tbe song was used by the WWE as the theme song for the 2005 edition of WWE Judgment Day.

The video for "Before I Forget" shows Slipknot performing the song unmasked and in casual clothes (all with black shirts), as opposed to their usual cover-alls. The video makes use of strategic camera techniques in which the members' faces are never totally shown, thus keeping with the band's running theme of anonymity. Their masks are shown next to them as they perform.
